Fast Forward Press to release their fourth anthology of flash fiction in Portland, Oregon, June 16-18
Fast Forward Press announces the release of their fourth anthology of flash fiction, The Incredible Shrinking Story, on June 18, 2011. This anthology features emerging voices alongside well-known flash fiction writers, such as Tom Hazuka, Lihn Dihn, Meg Tuite, Nancy Stohlman, Teresa Milbrodt, Rob Geisen, and Charles Rutter. The Incredibly Shrinking Story, edited by Kona Morris, Leah Rogin- Roper, and Stacy Walsh, will be released in Portland during two flash fiction events.
On Thursday, June 16, from 7:00-10:00 PM, the press will hold a flash fiction writing workshop at the Independent Publishing Resource Center (IPRC). Size Matters: A Flash Fiction Workshop from Fast Forward Press will consist of four different sections: Time Bandits: Manipulating Time in Flash Fiction, Flash Fiction: Real Literature in a Grain of Sand, Two Truths and a Lie: Confessions of a Flash Fiction Writer, and Bam! The Power of Endings and Why They Make the Story. The sections will be taught by Nancy Stohlman, K. Scott Forman, Leah Rogin-Roper, and Kona Morris. On Saturday, June 18, from 7:00-10:00 PM, the official reading and release party will be held at The Waypost (thewaypost.com) at 3120 N Williams Avenue in Portland, featuring readings from many authors, including Nancy Stohlman, Rob Geisen, Meg Tuite, Jon Olsen, and Portland’s own Chris Henry (hellochrishenry.com), who not only has a story featured in the book, but who also illustrated the gorgeous artwork on the cover of The Incredible Shrinking Story. Copies of the new anthology will be hot off the press and for sale. The reading is free and open to the public.
Fast Forward Press has published authors from five continents and countless countries around the world. They’ve been featured as experts of the flash fiction genre on panels ranging from the New York Public Library to the Association of Writers and Writing Programs (AWP).
